IRNA: Supreme Leader anticipates Iowa Caucus?

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday that during elections campaigns all should respect candidates and avoid defaming them.

The Supreme Leader advised people to elect best candidates and termed elections as the most important issue of the Iranian people and as a scene to demonstrate people's wisdom and insight.

Addressing thousands of enthusiastic people in Yazd, the Supreme Leader lauded the sincere welcome accorded to him by people in the province and called the nation's national confidence as the main cause of their success in various fields.

Highlighting the importance of the 8th parliamentary elections in Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei called on the nation to massively turn out in the upcoming elections to elect the best possible candidates.

The Iranian people attach importance to elections in the country which demonstrates their firm determination, resistance, wisdom and rationality, the Supreme Leader said.

Ayatollah Khamenei said that enemies try to throw obstacles on the way of elections in Iran, adding that thanks to the will of the God Almighty, the efforts of enemies are doomed to fail and people through massive turn out in various elections have added to the glory of religious democracy.

People should choose the best candidates among qualified nominees who can better serve the nation, pointed out the Supreme Leader.
Good thing to point out. We wouldn't want people voting for the least qualified nominees.
