Haniyeh haunted by "Spiny Ahmed"

Normally Spiny Ahmed was wont to be about twelve feet from snout to tail, but when Ismail was depressed Ahmed could be anything up to eight hundred yards long. When Ahmed was about Ismail would go very quiet and start wobbling and his nose would swell up and his teeth would move about and he'd get very violent . . .

Update: I got carried away by the joke-possibilities of the picture, but the article is also interesting. It's always nice to see the word "Israel" in quotation marks:

"Hamas prefers to quit gov't than recognizing 'Israel'":
Palestinian government Spokesman Ghazi Hamad said Monday that popular Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas didn't accept the Arab peace proposal because it calls for recognizing the Zionist regime, asserting they would never recognize the regime.

Moreover, Hamad hinted that Hamas would never meet any pressure to recognize the Zionist regime, and it prefers to give up governing than recognizing the regime.

The Middle East quartet urged Hamas to accept these demands in order to get an embargo and Western sanctions on the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) lifted.

"Hamas movement will not comply with interior or exterior pressures to accept the quartet's conditions," added Hamad.

"We agreed on all prisoners' document except the issue of Arab peace proposal because it asked all factions to recognize 'Israel' before joining the government of national unity," Hamad clarified.

Furthermore, Hamad dismissed threats by the Zionist regime to unleash a large-scale military operation in Gaza Strip if the Palestinians didn't free the Zionist soldier they arrested last June.

"The military solution will not be useful for the state of occupation, and 'Israel' has to meet the conditions of the factions that seized corporal Gilad Shalit in order to restore him back," said Hamad.

Palesinte demands a prisoner swap to exchange him with a number of the 10,000 Palestinian captives held in the Zionist regime prisons.
