Daniel Pipes: "Iran's Final Solution Plan"

Daniel Pipes is constantly called an "Islamophobe" by CAIR-types although he is actually in the "Islam itself is not the problem" camp. Here he is typically thoughtful on the subject of Ahmadinejad's recent statements and their significance. The following is particularly disturbing:
Israelis estimate that the Iranians could, within six months, have the means to build an atomic bomb. Mr. Ahmadinejad implicitly confirmed this rapid timetable when he warned that after just "a short period … the process of the elimination of the Zionist regime will be smooth and simple." The imminence of a nuclear-armed Iran transforms "Death to Israel" from an empty slogan into the potential premise for a nuclear assault on the Jewish state, perhaps relying on Mr. Rafsanjani's genocidal thinking.
Does this give the lie to the often repeated claim that the "Holy land is holy to three peoples"? Desiring to transform a land into a radioactive wasteland doesn't seem to go with cherishing a land as holy. This also gives the lie to the assertion that the other Arab and Muslim states are motiviated by sympathy for the Palestinians. Ahmadinejad just proposed vaporizing the Palestinians. If you want to object that the other Arab and Muslim states do not necessarily agree with Iran, it is worth recalling all the news reports about the lack of condemnation for Ahmadinejad's statements.
